   “The Como Project” will cover the history of the railroad town of Como, Colorado and the restoration efforts currently underway. Como was founded in 1879 by the Denver South Park & Pacific Railroad and while under Union Pacific control soon became a major junction point in the road’s operations. Emphasis on the recently acquired operating steam engine “Klondike Kate”, will be included.

Bob Schoppe is the president of the Denver South Park & Pacific Historical Society and has been involved in the Como project from the beginning. Bob is a retired Navy pilot as well as a retired airline pilot and a never-to-be-retired railfan.
